Cuckoo
Cuculus Canorus

Often heard but not seen, this bird of mythical status is a staple of Spring. Some years, we've had to seek them out. Other times (like 2025), we just bumped into them everywhere.

Joint winner of my Bird of the Year 2022 (along with Barn Owl.)
